Varsity baseball tryouts were held Monday in the Presque Isle High School gymnasium, with sessions taking place both in the morning and afternoon. In the bottom photo, 26th-year coach Tim Olore addresses the 26 players who tried out for spots on the JV and varsity teams. The Wildcats will take a trip to southern Maine for a few preseason games during April vacation before beginning their regular season with an April 23 home doubleheader against Old Town. Softball and tennis tryouts and track and field practices also got under way at all area high schools Monday.
