    MONTICELLO – Ruth A. Weed, 86, died March 24, 2011 at a local health care facility. She was born at Monticello April 8, 1924, the daughter of Herman and Bertha (Swimm) Shaw.
    Ruth was a hard-working woman, working side-by-side with her husband Robert on the family farm. When she wasn’t farming, she would be found in the kitchen cooking for family and friends.
    She is survived by her foster son, Colby Shaw, and his wife, Rhonda, of Littleton; special nephew, Billy Shaw, and his wife, Celia, of Bloomfield, New Brunswick; sister-in-law June Shaw of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, and brothers, Gordon, Leighton, and Emerson.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Dunn Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the Monticello Foster Cemetery.
