LIMESTONE — Maria G. Lewis, 95, passed away Tuesday morning, March 22, 2011, at a Van Buren nursing facility. She was born October 30, 1915, in Limestone, the daughter of Ernest and Melinda (Gray) Getchell. Maria was a graduate of the Limestone High School, Class of 1934, attended the Limestone United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lewis was predeceased by her first husband, Harry E. Davison; her second husband, William A. Lewis; one daughter, Linda M. Page; one grandson, Mark Deschesne; four brothers, Daniel, Harry, Irving and Albert Getchell; two sisters, Winnifred Barnes and Laura Coffey. She is survived by one daughter, Sally McIntrye and her husband, Reg of Presque Isle; one son-in-law, Norman Page of Limestone; one sister, Susan Kaluzynski of North Monmouth; five grandchildren, Pam Scheppele and her husband, Casey of Caribou, Peter Page and companion, Leslie Achorn of Limestone, Karen Weston and her husband, Michael of Centreville, New Brunswick, Kenneth Page and his wife, Stephanie of Lubec, Kristie Deschesne of Orono; six great-grandchildren, Sheena Page, Megan Scheppele, Emma Page, Shawn, Brynn and Drew Weston; several nieces and nephews.
Friends called Saturday, March 26, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield where funeral service were conducted at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Ellen Cleaves officiating. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who chose may contribute in memory of Mrs. Lewis to the charity or organization of one’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
