PT Arlene Lambert    AUGUSTA – Arlene R. Lambert, age 82, of Second Avenue, died March 25, 2011 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge Drive after an extended illness. She was born in Houlton, Maine on June 25, 1928, the daughter of Ansel B. Farrar and Alice M. (McDonald) Farrar.
    Mrs. Lambert graduated from Cony High School of Augusta.
    Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a hairdresser for 28 years by the Augusta Mental Health Institute. She previously owned and operated Arlene’s Beauty Nook for several years.
    Mrs. Lambert was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church of Augusta; a member of the Rose of Sharon, Eastern Star and the Square Dance Club of Belgrade.
    Her husband, Neil R. Lambert, preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
    Surviving is a son, Larry N. Lambert and his wife Sandra of Augusta; two sisters, Hellen Fitzpatrick of Connecticut and Therisa Burpee of Florida; three brothers, Joseph Farrar, Ervin Farrar and Earl Farrar, all of Houlton; one granddaughter, Stacia Lambert; and several nieces and nephews.
    Special thanks to Uncle Joe, Aunt Jeannette & cousins Suzanne and Jarod. The family also wishes to thank all the staff on the first floor at MaineGeneral Medical Center for their care of Mrs. Lambert. That appreciation is also extended to the staff at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge Drive.
    There will be no public visiting hours. A graveside service will be held later this spring at Mount Hope Cemetery, Augusta. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 U.S. Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074, or to Spectrum Generations, One Weston Court, Suite 203, Augusta, ME 04330.
