Area roads to be closed to heavy vehicles

During Monday evening’s regular city council meeting, the panel approved a recommendation  by the public works director to post the following municipal roads to be closed to all vehicles over 23,000 pounds with the exception of fuel deliveries and emergency vehicles effective immediately. This annual posting is developed from past experience, condition of the road base and surface; pending logging activities and whether the road is posted on the other end by an adjoining community.

Roads that will be posted include: Albair Road, Bowles Road, Caribou Lake Road, George Watson Memorial Drive, Maysville Road, Ogren Road, Old Washburn Road, Plante Road, Railroad Street, Richards Road, Vance Road and the West Gate Road.
