GALLAGHER, Patrick J., 83, PRESQUE ISLE, March 5, 2011. Arrangements are in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – J. Patrick Gallagher, 83, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011, at his home. He was born December 3, 1927, in Newburg, New Brunswick Canada, the son of Guy and Mary (Campbell) Gallagher, Sr.
Pat was a graduate of Presque Isle High School. He then went onto college at the University of Maine at Orono. During his time at Orono, Pat took leave from college and joined the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, he returned to finish his studies and receive a degree in Agronomy. Pat worked as a loan officer and as a branch manager for Northern National Bank. After that, he sold insurance for the Knights of Columbus, and along with his wife, Anne, owned and operated Anne’s Fashions on Main St. Pat’s faith was very important to him and he was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, Anne (Lausier) Gallagher of Presque Isle, he is survived by three sons: Daniel of Nasheua, NH, Kevin of Mechanic Falls, ME, and Sean and his wife, Stephanie of Pasadena, Maryland; three daughters: Patricia Partridge and her husband, Michael of Birchwood, Wisconsin, Kathleen Smith and her husband, Joseph of Fort Kent, ME, Maureen Gallagher of Pensacola, Fla.; and nine grandchildren. He also leaves behind three brothers: Donald Gallagher and his wife, Lilace, Gerald Gallagher and his wife, Priscilla, and Guy Gallagher and his wife, Patricia, all of Presque Isle; two sisters: Theresa Mahoney of New Brunswick, and Mary Schneider and her husband, Andreas of Fort Fairfield, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers: Lloyd, John and Ralph Gallagher.
Friends called 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle, and from 9 a.m., until time of service on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2011, at the church, with Rev. Ray Morency celebrant. There was a reception held at the K/C Hall following the service. Interment will take place in the spring at North Main Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to MGH Heart Center, Dr. William Dec, 55 Fruit Street, Gray Bigelow 800, Boston, MA 02114.
