Lloyd Sunshine Fund, are, in back from left Connie and Kristin Lloyd, Debbie Sutherland, owner of Bramble Berry Market where the winning ticket was drawn; and board members Allyson Masse and Lynn Greenier. Jacob Berkoski, in front, drew the lucky ticket belonging to Pam Morin of Caribou.
According to Connie Lloyd, “Our Family Weekend Getaway raffle was a huge success due to all of the positive community support which is truly helping us make a difference in the lives of children.”
Proceeds from the raffle sales will go towards purchasing books by author Audrey Penn’s, “Kissing Hand” series, for all elementary second-graders in Caribou, New Sweden, Woodland and Connor.
“We are excited to announce that Mrs. Penn has recently offered her full support to Marissa’s Fund,” said Lloyd.” She is a wonderful child advocate and we are excited and thankful to have her support. Her children’s books are filled with life lessons, helping children deal with bullies, anxiety, separation and the difficult topic of death,” she added.
The directors of the Marissa E. Lloyd Sunshine Fund extended a special thank you to everyone who supported this worthy cause by purchasing or helping sell tickets. Marissa E. Lloyd Sunshine Fund is a non-profit 501(c) (3).
The Marissa E. Lloyd Sunshine Fund was set up by Kristin Lloyd in memory of her daughter, Marissa, who died Feb. 15, 2008, the victim of an automobile accident.
