Contributed photoJean Johnston of Houlton stopped into the Houlton Pioneer Times office recently to tell us of her super-sized Easter lily. The flower, measured at more than 5-feet in height, has become the centerpiece of her home. The flower was a simple lily last Easter and after it died off, she snipped the stem and planted the bulb outside to see if it would grow again. In October she noticed it was starting to sprout and she put it back in a pot and brought it inside. It kept growing at an alarming rate and recently bloomed.
