McGill’s Community Band readies for 2011 season

    Band rehearsals for McGill’s Community Band begin Monday, March 7, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Houlton High School music room. Band director Joe Fagnant has set the schedule for practice. Sessions will be held March 7, 14, 21 and 28; April 4, 11 and 25; May 2, 9, 16 and 23; and June 6 and13.
    The first concert in Monument Park will be Thursday, June 16. Houlton will be hosting R.B. Hall Day on Saturday, June 25, with other community bands joining them for a day of music in the park. 
    Anyone interested in becoming a band member and have at least one year of playing experience, contact Fagnant, at 532-6551 or Michael Clark, band manager, at 532-7148 for more information. The band is looking forward to having another wonderful summer of music in Houlton.
