UMM dean’s list

 

MACHIAS — Stuart Swain, provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Maine at Machias, has announced that 242 students have been named to the dean’s list at UMM for the fall 2010 semester.

All matriculated and special students who have earned a semester average of 3.25 or better on a 4.00 scale are eligible for the dean’s list if they have completed a minimum of six credit hours graded on an A-F basis (excluding developmental courses), have earned no grade lower than a C and have received no missing or incomplete grades. The dean’s list is based on students’ grades 35 days after the last day of finals.

Students making the list locally include: Mapleton — Kathryn H. Higgins, Shelly Ann Mountain and Megan Theresa Sturgeon; and Washburn — Paige Violet Huston.

Colby College dean’s list

WATERVILLE — Area students were named to the dean’s list at Colby College in Waterville for their outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2010-11 year:

• Mimi E. Smith, a member of the Class of 2013, is the daughter of Charles and Marguerite Smith, of Presque Isle, and is majoring in theater and dance and sociology at Colby. She attended Presque Isle High School.

• Kelsey M. Park, a member of the Class of 2014, is the daughter of James and Jan Park, of Presque Isle, and is an undeclared major at Colby. She attended Presque Isle High School.

Students whose grade point averages were 3.6 or higher were named to the Dean’s List.

URI dean’s list

The University of Rhode Island recently announced that 4,117 undergraduates have qualified for the fall 2010 dean’s list. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island’s cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, 28 other states and more than a dozen countries. More than half of the students (2,409) are Rhode Islanders.
