CALWAY, Linda Diane (Garrison), 67, ELLSWORTH, February 12, 2011. A memorial is scheduled to celebrate her life, Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Union River Estates in Ellsworth.
ELLSWORTH – Linda Dianne (Garrison) Calway, 67, passed away after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer, February 12, 2011, with her loving family by her side, at her Ellsworth residence. She was born Aug. 30, 1943, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Bernie and Sadie (Holmes) Garrison.
Linda graduated from Easton High School in 1961, Salutatorian of her class. She was also crowned Miss Easton in 1961. Linda worked as a bookkeeper at Aucoin’s Restaurant in Presque Isle for 19 years. She also worked at the China Hill Restaurant in Ellsworth as a waitress for eight years, until her retirement. A gifted musician, Linda loved playing her keyboard for family and friends. She also loved the Maine coast and collecting sea shells which she crafted into Christmas decorations. She was also a huge Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Stuart Calway of Ellsworth; and her adoring son, Adam Fitzherbert of Surry; grandchildren: Andrea, Spencer and Joshua; great-grandchildren: Alivia, Samuel, Alex, Savanna and Evangelina; dearest stepdad, Kempton Adams of Easton; sister and brother-in-law, Chris and Richie Landolfi of Stoughton, MA; Pam and Don Godwin of Hanson, MA; Pricilla and Bill Evans of Marshfield, MA; Ginni Calway of Halifax, MA; her dear aunt, Midge Bean of Newport Beach, CA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be sadly missed by life long friends, Iola and Bill, Carolyn and Dennis, Suzie and Jerry, Keith, Billy and Juanita. Also dear friends, Brenda and Serrena.
She was predeceased by her mom, Sadie Snow; brother, Bernie “Bub” Garrison; sisters, Marie Osgood and Rayma Philbrick.
Special thanks go out to Hospice and Oxycare for their outstanding service during her illness.
