Tournament Week! Also vacation week from school. Do you remember riding the “fan bus” to tournament games? What fun that was! So sad they don’t do that anymore. As I recall, we paid $3 or $5 for the ride down and back and it cost us lunch money at one of the drive thru chains. What a bargain.
With all the kiddos at home and the travel to and from the tourney games (several, I hope!), we will be looking for snacks for the ones at home and maybe even some travel snacks for the bus ride. Have fun and good luck to the local teams! Bring home the gold!

Pizza Pinwheels
1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
24 slices pepperoni
1 (14 ounce) can pizza sauce

Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
On a large baking sheet, pinch the eight crescent roll dough triangles into four rectangles. Layer each rectangle with six slices of pepperoni and even amounts of mozzarella cheese. Roll tightly lengthwise and slice each into four or more pieces.
Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 12 minutes. Serve with pizza sauce for dipping-or without if they are traveling in a ziplock bag.

Blueberry Yogurt Muffins
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 (8 ounce) container blueberry flavored yogurt
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cups blueberries

Directions:  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners.
Stir together flour, sugar, baking soda and baking powder. In a separate bowl, combine yogurt, egg, vanilla, butter and blueberries. Stir mixtures together just until combined; batter will be very thick. Scoop into prepared muffin cups. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Have a great week and enjoy your family. Keep writing, and we’ll talk more next time.
