Cloukey honored
SALISBURY, N.C. — Rene Cloukey, the sports director at WAGM-TV in Presque Isle, is the 2010 Maine Sportscaster of the Year. The announcement was made recently by National Sportscaster and Sportswriter Association Executive Director Dave Goren. Cloukey has now won the award five times.
He shares this year’s award with Jim Churchill, of the Maine Black Bear Sports Network, who won for the first time. Pete Warner of the Bangor Daily News claimed the Maine Sportswriter of the Year honor
In addition, 107 other Sportscasters and Sportswriters of the Year from 48 other states and the District of Columbia will be honored during the NSSA’s 52nd annual Awards Weekend, to be held May 14-16.
