SNOW MACHINES

SNOW MACHINES have been busy creating snow at Paul Cyr’s property in Presque Isle, providing Mother Nature a little assistance to ensure there’s enough of the white stuff to provide adequate ground coverage for athletes taking part in the World Cup Biathlon at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle taking place in just over a week. Recent precipitation has helped, with over a foot falling in the area with the two most recent snow storms. Unusually warm weather created lighter than normal snowfall — as pictured here with bare ground still visible — up until recently, when temperatures began to drop closer to the normal range for this time of year.
