Houlton Pioneer Times Photo/Elna SeabrooksAfter two weeks into the court-ordered cleanup at the Jerry Cardone property on Military St., Brent Dickison said there was still a lot to be done on the property’s four acres that were strewn with litter, wood, fencing, metal roofing and metal debris. He also said the acres of wood being cleaned up and burned would have created a large-scale hazard in the summer if it were dry and had caught fire. Operating the excavator is Gerald Dickison of Dickison and London. According to Wade Hanson, in the code enforcement office, Cardone will sell the remaining metal debris to a local junkyard and the public works department will remove other wood byproducts from the property that Cardone had accumulated over three decades.
