EAGLE LAKE — Public complaints led to an Eagle Lake man’s arrest Dec. 28, and multiple drug-related charges.
Bryon Nadeau, 61, of Old Main Street, was arrested last Tuesday following an extensive investigation by members of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
“Agents of the MDEA completed a two-month criminal investigation into cocaine trafficking the afternoon of Dec. 28, with the execution of a search warrant at the home of 61-year-old Bryon Nadeau in Eagle Lake,” said Division Commander Darrell Crandall.
Crandall said during the investigation, DEA agents collected information on Nadeau’s drug trafficking activities and were able to purchase cocaine from Nadeau at his residence.
“On Tuesday evening, MDEA agents, sheriff’s deputies and state troopers went to the home armed with a warrant and found Nadeau inside. Agents seized over a half pound of cocaine valued at nearly $26,000, three and a half pounds of marijuana, $2,113 in cash, two handguns, eight long guns and an assortment of ecstasy and prescription drug tablets, including hydrocodone and oxycodone,” said Crandall.
Nadeau was charged with aggravated trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in marijuana and trafficking in prescription drugs as well. He was taken to the Fort Kent Police Department where he posted bail.
“The Aroostook County District Attorney’s Office will be reviewing the case for prosecution. If convicted of the most serious offense, Nadeau faces no less than four years in prison, while the maximum penalty is 30 years,” said Crandall.

MDEA SEIZES DRUGS — MDEA agents, working on tips from community members, arrested Bryon Nadeau, 61, of Eagle Lake, on Dec. 28, charging him drug trafficking. Pictured are items seized from Nadeau’s home, including cocaine, guns, marijuana, cash and various pills.
Nadeau is scheduled for an initial appearance in Caribou Superior Court on Feb. 17.
Crandall credits Eagle Lake citizens for making law enforcement aware of drug activity taking place in the community.
“This investigation began with complaints from the community about drug trafficking activity at Nadeau’s residence. MDEA agents allege that Nadeau was traveling outside Maine to get large quantities of cocaine which he was bringing back to sell from his home,” said Crandall.
