AUGUSTA — On Nov. 29, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce confirmed its 2010-2011 board of directors and elected board officers during its annual Board Appreciation Dinner.

The Maine State Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the reappointment of Stephen Culver of Hannaford Bros. Co., as the organization’s board chairman. In addition, the following officers were confirmed to extend their service for another year: Frank McGinty of MaineHealth as first vice chair; Melinda Poore of Time Warner Cable, New England Div., as second vice chair; and, Wick Johnson of Kennebec Technologies, as treasurer.

In addition, the Chamber welcomed new Board members as well as those filling unexpired terms and confirmed the reappointment of seven directors. New directors include: Eileen Skinner of Mercy Hospital; Diane Nichols of Wright Express Corporation; Derek Volk of Volk Packaging Corporation; and, Josh Tardy of Irwin, Tardy and Morris.

Reappointed directors include: Tom Brennan of Poland Spring Water Company; Gerry Chasse of Bangor Hydro-Electric Company; Daniel P. Corcoran of Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Maine; Dave McKenney of McCain Foods USA, Inc.; Brian Oliver of Casella Waste Systems, Eastern Region; David Warren of Verrill Dana, LLP; and, Sam Zaitlin of Renewable Energy Storage of Maine.

Replacement directors filling unexpired terms include: Sterling Kozlowski of KeyBank Maine; William Williamson of Bank of America; Rick Stanley of the Sanford-Springvale Chamber & Economic Development; Dennis Reese of Martin’s Point Health Care; and Dana Bullen of Sunday River.

Known widely as The Voice of Maine Business, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce advocates on behalf of its network of 5,000 member companies before the Legislature and the state’s regulatory agencies and through educational and networking events to ensure that the state’s business environment continues to thrive by lowering the cost of doing business in Maine. Its advocacy efforts focus on seven central themes: tax reform, health care, workers’ compensation, economic development, education, energy/environment and government spending/budget.
