PRESQUE ISLE — A change is being made to an annual talent show that will enable even more public participation.
The Presque Isle Kiwanis Club is hosting the 59th annual Talent Revue on Saturday, Jan. 22, with four categories for competition: elementary, middle school, high school and college/adult. Past competitions had restricted the oldest competitors to college-age; this year’s event has been expanded to include adults and non-students. The change will make the Talent Revue a truly public affair, allowing individuals of all ages to show off a wide variety of talent.
Open auditions will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Presque Isle Middle School from 9-11 a.m., with scheduling on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no fee to audition or to participate in the show.
Entrants in each of the four categories will be competing for one of four top awards of $150 each. In all, the Kiwanis Club plans to hand out over $1,000 in prizes. Contestants will be selling tickets and there will be a prize for high ticket sales as well.
The Talent Revue will be held at the Presque Isle Middle School beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, with children under 10 getting in free.
