CARIBOU — The Caribou Middle School basketball team got back on the winning track last week with victories over Fort Kent and Madawaska. The Vikings now sport a 5-3 record on the year.
On Tuesday, Dec. 21, Caribou bested Madawaska 65-29 in a lop-sided game. The Vikings led 17-12 in the first quarter before breaking open the game with a second quarter surge that gave the team a 40-12 lead by halftime.
Dayne Savage poured in 22 points to pace the Vikings, while Colby Holdsworth added 12; Austin Griffeth, nine; Carter Chabot, eight; and Matt Milton and Taylor Thibodeau, six each.
Madawaska’s leading scorer was Luc Daigle with 11 points.
On Monday, Caribou beat Fort Kent 45-22 thanks to a 15-point effort by Savage. Nate Wall added 11, while Thibodeau chipped in eight. Michael Marquis and Taylor Miller played well defensively.
Fort Kent was led by Kaleb Jandreau with eight points.
