Senator Sherman takes oath of office

    State Senator Roger Sherman (R-Aroostook County) took his oath of office on Dec. 1. The oath was given by Governor John Baldacci in the Maine Senate Chamber. Senator Sherman was joined by his wife for the ceremony.
    Sen. Sherman was elected to his third term in the Maine Senate on Nov. 2 and serves the southern part of Aroostook County. Prior to his election to the Maine Senate, Senator Sherman served in the Maine House of Representatives.

    Sen. Sherman said, “I am pleased to have the opportunity to represent Aroostook County in the Maine Senate. I hope that as we face the challenges of the coming months we do so with a common sense approach. I look forward to working in a bi-partisan fashion to find real solutions to our state’s problems. I will work hard to ensure the people of Senate District 34 are represented well.”
