Lance and Lukas Lagasse, the sons of Melanie and the late Richard Lagasse, along with Simone Michaud, daughter of Rick and Katie Michaud, recently did some very special shopping — after they spent two weekends, tipping trees to make 15 Christmas wreaths which they then sold.

The three young entrepreneurs knew just what was on their shopping list too. Using the $300 they raised from the sale of their handmade wreaths, they purchased 40 Christmas gifts — toys to be exact — which they donated to the Caribou Volunteer Firefighters Toys for Tots Program.

Jared Willey, volunteer firefighter with the CFD and chairman of the Toys for Tots drive, stated, “We really appreciate the younger generation getting involved with this program. It’s good for adults to see the younger kids contributing to this special cause and it’s good for other kids to become aware of what their peers are doing — many younger kids don’t know how they can help.”

The Lagasse brothers were very humble about their charitable efforts, stating, “We do it to help — it lets other kids have a good time.”

When the purchased toys were brought to the fire station, Lukas, Lance (and Mom) enjoyed having pizza  with firefighter Willey and other CFD members. Simone Michaud was unable to be at the dinner.
