Four arrested for home invasion, assault

Sgt. Brian L. Harris and Tr. Todd Stetson of the Maine State Police responded to a residence on Rt 1 in Frenchville for a home invasion just before noon on Dec. 4. Brian Marquis, age 26, reported that four men had forcibly entered his home and after entering the house, had assaulted he and his twin brother, Jason Marquis, age 26. After assaulting the twins, the four men allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money from them and then fled the house. Jason sustained serious head and facial injuries in the assault and was transported to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent by private vehicle. Jason was treated at the Fort Kent hospital for his injuries and was then transferred via Fort Kent Ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor and admitted for further treatment; Brian Marquis sustained minor injuries in the assault that did not need medical treatment.  

As a result of the investigation, four individuals were arrested later that evening for their involvement in the home invasion and assault. Arrested and charged with aggravated assault, robbery and burglary were Daniel Rockhold, age 21, Nicholas Michaud, age 27, Seth Castonguay, age 20 of and Jeff Cashman, age 31 all of Van Buren. All four were transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.  

The investigation is continuing and Trooper Stetson and Sgt. Harris were assisted by detectives from Maine State Police Criminal Division, Van Buren PD, and the Border Patrol.
