Pool closed Thursday
The pool will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 25, but on Friday, Nov. 26, there will be an extra general swim offered from 1-2:45 p.m.
Family swim hours are Friday and Saturday from 6-7 p.m.
OAPI event
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Outdoor Adventure Program will host a program to close out the semester. Registrants will be able to participate in biathlon target practice at the Nordic Heritage Sports Center on Friday, Dec. 3. Instruction and activities for this event will be led by local elite biathletes and the registration deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. For more information contact Kim McCrea at 768-9401.
Gingerbread house decorating
Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is hosting gingerbread house decorating on Friday, Dec. 3 from 6-8 p.m. This program is sponsored by Sleeper’s Grocery. Pre-registration is required and limited to 200 participants.
WinterKids passports, fun passes now available
This winter, families can be active, stay healthy, and have fun together with the WinterKids Passport and FunPass. Applications for these programs are now available at www.winterkids.org.
The WinterKids Passport offers all Maine fifth, sixth and seventh graders the opportunity to learn and enjoy winter sports, with free and discounted tickets, lessons, and rentals at over 50 outdoor recreation areas across the state, including downhill ski areas, cross country ski centers, ice skating arenas and snow tubing parks.

The WinterKids FunPass offers all Maine children, from preschool through fourth grade, the chance to try cross country skiing and snowshoeing on groomed trails at 20 locations. The FunPass is free and available for download at www.winterkids.org.
