Carsyn Koch takes 44th in New England meet

THETFORD, VT – The 76th New England High School Interscholastic Cross Country Championship was held Saturday, and several local runners earned the right to compete in the five-kilometer race.

Carsyn Koch, a Washburn District High School freshman who had qualified by winning the Maine Class C Championships Oct. 30 in Belfast, came in 44th out of 255 competitors in the girls race with a time of 21 minutes, 7.9 seconds.
Presque Isle’s Alecia Palmer raced to a 61st-place performance with a time of 21:22.9. Palmer qualified by recording one of the 25 fastest times at the state meet.
