Caribou – Lorraine McCrossin, 79, wife of the late Joseph McCrossin Sr. died unexpectedly November 8, 2010 at Caribou. She was born in St. Leonard, N.B. Canada February 12, 1931, the daughter of the late Stephen and Florilda (Berube) Levesque. Mrs. McCrossin was employed at the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion for many years as the bartender. She was a member of the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Henry B. Pratt Post #15 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Lister-Knowlton Post #9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Kelly McCrossin Jr. of Berwick and Mark and Donna McCrossin of Caribou; a daughter, Debbie Scheid and her fiancé, Mark Gregory of Dedham; one brother, Maurice Levesque and his wife, Joan of Little Madawaska Lake; two sisters, Lorretta Boucher of Waterbury, Conn. and Martha Morin of Caribou; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by a son, Scott McCrossin.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Friday, November 12, 2010 from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Fr. Aaron Damboise, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial.
