NARFE members meet

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association held an officers’ meeting on Oct. 7. They elected Arthur Pike, President; David Demerchant, 1st Vice President; Albertine Dufour, 2nd Vice President; Dean Rouch, Secretary and Jackie Beaupre, Treasurer. They also appointed eight positions all for the year 2011.

The monthly meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month, unless otherwise noted, at the American Legion in Caribou, and represent all federal employees from the northern Maine area. All past and present federal employees are welcome. For any questions, call 764-4468.
The following is a list of programs, dates and meals planned by NARFE for the year 2011.
Jan. 27 – IRS/taxes and meatloaf
Feb. 24 – Mortician and roast beef
March 24 – Agency on Aging and chicken
April 28 – Gardening and roast pork
May 26 – Customs/Border Patrol and lasagna
The meetings above are all at the American Legion in Caribou.
June 23 – Oriental Pearl restaurant, Presque Isle outing
July – no meeting
Aug. 25 – local picnic spot/cookout, TBA and words from Federation president
Sept. 22 – Cary Hospital Life Albert system and chicken dinner
Oct. – no meeting
Nov. 3 (1st Thurs.) – Amer. Legion with health insurance information and turkey
Dec. 8 (2nd Thurs.) – Amer. Legion Christmas party and installation of officers.
