PT Earle StotonAmerican Flag Color    HOULTON – Earle Peabody Stoton 89, beloved father, husband and friend passed away October 31, 2010 at his home after a short illness. He was born January 30, 1921 at Houlton, the son of Arthur and Hazel (Peabody) Stoton.
    Earle was a graduate of Houlton High School and served in the United States Armored Division and saw service in Italy, France, Alsace Lorraine, Germany, as the Liberators of “Dachau” prison camp. He was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal.
    Earle was past President of Houlton Lions Club, a member of the Houlton Rotary, past President of the Four Seasons Association, Past Master of the Monument Lodge #90 A.M.& F.M. He was District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Maine-Past Patron of Fidelity Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite, Past Emminet Commander of St. Alterman Commandery. He was a member of the “Royal Order of Jesters” Court No. 150, Bangor, President of the “Billikens” of Pinellas County, FL, He played in the Anah Temple Shrine Concert Band for a number of years. He and his wife traveled abroad during the 70’s and 80’s and the last few years they wintered in Florida. Earle worked for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company for 54 years as a Financial Representative. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and camper, enjoying the East and West Branch Rivers. He had a great love for Maine especially his camp on Nickerson, where many times were spent with family and friends.
    Earle is survived by two daughters Charlotte MacArthur and her husband Stephen of Mattawamkeag, Kathryn Ruth Stoton of Clearwater, FL. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Edwards Stoton and his brother Elmer Stoton.
    Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home 6 to 8 p.m. Tues and 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 noon Wed. with Rev. Jessie Drysdale officiating.
