RICHARDSON, Jean White, 82, PRESQUE ISLE, October 22, 2010. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Jean W. Richardson, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on October 22, 2010, at a Presque Isle assisted living facility. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jean was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, on August 23, 1928, and grew up in Grand Falls, New Brunswick. Jean’s childhood and early adult life in Grand Falls provided cherished memories to her throughout her life; and she visited old friends “over home” quite often.
Jean married Carroll “Cal” Richardson in June of 1956, and they lived and raised their family on their favorite hill overlooking Presque Isle. Jean worked many years at Wilder’s Jewelry Store and always enjoyed being with her coworkers and seeing the many customers that came into the store daily. She was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Presque Isle and provided much service to the church, finding great comfort within its walls.
Jean is survived by her best friend and beloved husband of 54 years, Carroll B. Richardson of Presque Isle; three children, daughter, Nancy Richardson Magee and husband, Jay Magee, of Scarborough; son, John Richardson of Presque Isle; and daughter, Jill Richardson and fiancé, Tim Michaud of Brunswick; two grand-daughters: Jenna Richardson of Presque Isle, and Jillian Magee of Scarborough; one brother and his wife, William and Fran White of Toronto, Canada; sister-in-law, Sylvia Richardson of Skowhegan; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Harold and Ruth (Pirie) White, Jean was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Silmser; and a daughter-in-law, Melissa Fassold Richardson.
The Richardson family would like to thank Elder Care of Aroostook and Leisure Village for all their compassion, warmth and dignity shown to Jean and the family.
There will be no public service or callings hours. If you would like to remember Jean in a special way, donations may be sent to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 52 Second Street, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle. Online condolences may be made at www.duncan-graves.com
