LIMESTONE — A generous donation from a Limestone community member has set the town’s Rotarians Town Clock project on a new timeline — one that they hope will be started in spring of 2011.

Slated to be the new location of the clock tower/park area, with a pavilion and farmers market location.

Rotarians are just under the halfway point in obtaining funds necessary to see the project through — they currently have about $7,000 of the $18,000 needed for project completion.

“We hope that the clock will be obtained by 2011 and the rest of the project can start in the spring of 2011,” said Rotarian Larry Zenzius.

“ I think it will be a great asset to the downtown,” Limestone Town Manager Donna Bernie said..

The project has been a work-in-progress for about a year, but the recent land donation — made by Tracy Labreck — will greatly assist Rotarians with creating an aesthetically pleasing nook in downtown Limestone for the community to enjoy.

Individuals interested in contributing to the Town Clock project can contact Rotarian Larry Zenzius at 325-4667, or by contacting any Limestone Rotarian.

Additional information will be available in The Aroostook Republican as the project progresses.
