Congratulations to the Ark Animal Sanctuary for winning the Grand Prize in Citgo’s Fueling Good Get and Give Community Award! Many deserving organizations from around the country vied for this prize, and our very own Houlton-based all-volunteer animal sanctuary came in first!
Representatives from Citgo attended the Ark’s “Thanksgiving in October” benefit supper on Oct. 16 at Watson Hall and presented AAS Founder and President Lorraine Monfils with a $2,500 gas card and a case of oil! A packed room of supporters and happily-fed diners looked on as a professional film production crew worked its magic and helped turn the night into a spectacle! And to add to the magic, Daigle Oil Co., our local Citgo distributor, matched the Grand Prize and presented the Ark with $2,500 worth of gas cards! What a huge help this will be for all the trips to the vet’s office to care for the animals needing checkups, medicine, surgeries, spaying/neutering!
A huge thanks to Citgo, Daigle Oil, and everyone who came out on a rainy night to support the Ark Animal Sanctuary’s work for the homeless pets of our community. And thank you to everyone who cooked a great turkey supper with all the fixin’s and worked to help set up, serve the diners, then clean up.
It truly was Thanksgiving in October.
