A CHIMNEY FIRE

A CHIMNEY FIRE on Porter Street in Washburn was quickly extinguished thanks to the fast response of the Washburn Fire Department. According to Fire Chief Troy Heald, a neighbor called in an active chimney fire at the home of Ken Dominique around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17. No injuries were reported and there was no damage to the home. The fire was the first of its kind for the department this season. With temperatures dipping, now is a good time to get furnaces and chimneys cleaned.
