HOULTON — Houlton residents will have an opportunity to hear candidates for Houlton Town Council and the SAD 29 school board engage in open debate Wednesday, Oct. 20 starting at 6 p.m. at the Houlton Town Council chamber.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the debate, which will be televised on local public access Channel 14. There will be an open forum to ask questions of the candidates. Questions may also be e-mailed to chamber@greaterhoulton.com either in advance or during the debates. They may also be phoned in on the night of the event at 532-4216.
Four candidates are seeking two seats on the Houlton Town Council. They are John White, Matthew Carr, Philip Bernaiche and incumbent John Fitzpatrick.
Four candidates are also seeking two seats on the SAD 29 school board. They are Terrence Spurling, Darryl Scott White, Frederick Grant and Carl Lord. The two seats currently belong to Kim Thompson and Frances Grant. Neither is seeking re-election.
