Premier League (Grades 3-4)
Fire vs. Revolution – The Fire shut down the Revolution offense for three periods before Kassie Krul took over. Solid play from the entire Fire team was led by Olivia Austin, Alya Theriault and Spencer Soucy.
The Revolution team had strong defense with the “twin towers” Alexis Rodriguez and Kassie Krul igniting the fuse for the Revolution with sound defense throughout the game and smart decision-making by Gabe Rand and Riley McNeal helped the Revolution earn a couple of outstanding goals. Great hustle, determination and hard work from all Revolution team members helped the team in this contest.
Metrostars vs. Rapids – The Metrostars and Rapids met for the first time. For the Metrostars, speedy Theo Strid got the first goal assisted by Sydney Thompson. Parker Deprey scored in the second period on a nice long pass from Willow Whitten. Ghent Durepo scored on a hard shot from close range off a nice assist by John O’Meara. Durepo was also outstanding in goal making several great saves. Hayden Hunter showed tremendous hustle all over the field. Ben Burgess played well on defense, keeping the ball out of the goal area several times.
The Rapids played much better this time around against the Metrostars. The defense put together a total team effort and cut down about half the chances the Metrostars had in their first matchup. Owen Martin, Alexis Bruso, Brandon Belanger and Mackenna Smith all played hard.
Galaxy vs. Rapids – The Rapids found the net multiple times in this contest. Alex Ezzy ended the game with a “hat trick.” Josh Cummings and Austin Findlen also notched one each. Cummings added two assists, Ezzy one and Owen McQuarrie one. Chyenne Cormier had incredible back-to-back saves in goal in her debut performance as goalie.
The Galaxy played hard with Cullin Caverhill and Alex Bouchard putting lots of pressure on the Rapids’ defense.
Fire vs. Metrostars – The Metrostars battled the Fire in an intense youth soccer game at Teague Park. There was a lot of back and forth action, but the Metrostars defense, led by Brooke Haney, Hayden Hunter, Willow Whitten and Tiernan Barbosa kept the Fire at bay. On the offensive side, Theo Strid scored a hat trick and was assisted by Parker Deprey, Hayden Hunter and Sydney Thompson while Thompson scored a nice goal herself off a rebound from an indirect kick. Kim Susee chipped in with some nice play for the Metrostars as well. It was a nice team effort for the Metrostars as they have continued to improve each game.
Team Fire had goals scored by Colby Bonville with assists coming from Alya Theriault and Aaron Johnson. This was a solid game by the entire Fire team. Shelby Barnes did an outstanding job while in goal.
Metrostars vs. Revolution – The Revolution team was hot again as Kassie Krul found the back of the net for another “hat trick” while also adding an assist. Gabe Rand had a big night scoring four times and adding two assists. Two of Rand’s goals were unassisted. Kaylyn Krul had a great pass to Rand for one of his goals. The defense was great with Brandon Jalbert and Alexis Rodriguez anchoring it. Kyle Boucher and Tyler Shade played awesome in goal with two great saves apiece.
Fire vs. Galaxy – The entire Fire team played very well in its final game of the season. Everyone showed great improvement over the course of the season. Aaron Johnson scored a goal from an assist of Dagan Savage. Brennan Poitras scored on a penalty kick.
The Galaxy defense played great with Riley Cavagnaro and Kara Randall taking control. Oliver Fisher did a fantastic job in goal for team Galaxy.
World League (Grades 5-6)
Arsenal vs. Liverpool – In the first quarter, Maddie Doucette scored a goal after a great drive up the field. Josiah Krul played well on defense with Kerrigan Manter taking a shot on goal. In the second quarter, Arsenal worked well passing the ball and putting pressure on the defense. Hannah MacDonald demonstrated strong play on offense. Evan Desmond and Caleb Brown each scored with assists from Krul. Krul added to the tally with two goals of his own. Manter aided in the team defense with a save in goal. In the third quarter, Arsenal pushed the ball out of their end effectively and kept Liverpool away from the goal. Trey Taylor and Desmond each had scoring opportunities for Arsenal with Doucette playing well in the Liverpool end. Caleb Brown had several saves in goal. In the final quarter, Desmond had a save in goal as well. Manter scored with an assist from Krul who added a goal of his own. Led by Krul, Arsenal passed the ball well across both ends of the field. Erin Randall played strong on defense, repeatedly clearing the ball from the Arsenal end.
Nick Sleeper and Hope Shea kept the pressure on the Arsenal team for Liverpool with Cole Jackson making several great saves in goal.
Chelsea vs. Manchester United – This was a very well played game by both teams on offense and defense, which kept the fans standing most of the game. Chelsea’s aggressive offensive attack of Ashley Matlock, Gabrielle Marquis, Austin Cheplic, Noah Frost, Conner Plourde and Daniel Randolph kept the charge going all four periods. In the third period Connor Plourde and Ashley Matlock took off running and found an open lane and allowed Connor Plourde to score. Later Manchester United followed suit and scored. With one minute left in the game and both Manchester and Chelsea fans still on their feet, Ashley Matlock found the back of the net with the goal. Team Chelsea had great goalie performances by Connor “Coco” Plourde and Daniel Randolph.
The Chelsea defense was outstanding all four periods.
Manchester United’s defense was fabulous in this tough match-up led by Bailey Griffeth, Seth Beidleman, and Heather LaMothe. The United mid field showed good ball control from Ciara Richards, Rachel Davis and Erin Kashian. Multiple shots were taken by Kyle Soetarte-Beaulier, Noah Heidorn and Alyssa Saucier. It was another impressive game in goal by Dawson Hebert.
Liverpool vs. Manchester United – What a fun game and very good offensive attack for Manchester United led by Noah Heidorn, Camden Huck and Alyssa Saucier. The team took a lot of shots on goal netting one of them.
Liverpool played very hard in a tough contest. Alec Cyr and Jillian Jandreau both made excellent passes throughout the game. Sammi Strid showed lot’s of hustle and Nick Pelletier worked hard trying to get the ball up to the offensive end.
Chelsea vs. Arsenal – Chelsea played great defense and offense all four periods.
Defense played by Noah Frost, Matt Nadeau, Sierra Ouellette, Paige O’Bar, Kara Madore, Gabrielle Marquis Hunter Lindsey, Daniel Randolph, and Austin Cheplic, Ashley Matlock and Anya O’Mara.
It was a well played game by both teams. Defense with strong goal play kept the game tight. Multiple passing plays put the ball in play at both ends of the field. Chelsea put some strong pressure in the Arsenal end with scoring attempts from Connor Plourde and Ashley Matlock. In the first quarter, backed by Josiah Krul, Maddie Doucette and Caleb Brown had scoring attempts. Hunter Jackson and Erin Randall played strong on defense with Kerrigan Manter playing tough in goal with a save. In the second quarter, tough defense from Manter and Kyra Thibeault kept the Arsenal end clear. Evan Desmond had a great scoring opportunity, but Krul’s strong play allowed him to find the Chelsea net twice. In the third quarter, Doucette and Trey Taylor kept the Chelsea team at bay. Desmond kept Chelsea from finding the goal with several great saves.
In the final quarter of the game, Hunter Jackson had a great save in goal with Desmond, Taylor and Krul working the ball both ways on the pitch. Krul added to the Arsenal tally with another goal. Arsenal played a strong passing game with backing from the defense.
Liverpool vs. Chelsea – This game took off in full force as both Chelsea and Liverpool played great defense in the first and second period not allowing any goals. In the third and fourth periods, Chelsea offensive line took off with their great passing and speed allowing Ashley Matlock, Gabrielle Marquis, Connor Plourde and Austin Cheplic to all score.
Manchester United vs. Arsenal – It was a well played game from both sides with excellent defense from both sides.
In the first quarter, Kerrigan Manter and Evan Desmond worked the ball well with scoring opportunities. Josiah Krul scored on a drive up the field. Arsenal was backed by Trey Taylor in goal with a couple of saves. In the second quarter, Caleb Brown and Desmond each took shots on goal with Krul adding to the Arsenal Tally. Maddie Doucette and Kyra Thibeault worked the ball out of the Arsenal end on defense.
In the third quarter, Doucette and Taylor pushed the ball out of the Arsenal end and into the Manchester side of the field. Krul had another scoring opportunity with Desmond having several saves in goal. Erin Randall worked the ball well making several good passes to her teammates.
In the final quarter, Manter, Desmond, Doucette kept the pressure on the Manchester defense with Krul scoring once more. Brown had a good save in goal.
