Wind gusts estimated to be at 30 mph and chilly temperatures were ignored on Saturday as 12 community volunteers began construction at the site of the new Caribou Boy Scout Lodge on Aldrich Drive. By the end of the day, the four exterior walls were framed and plans were they would be sheathed with plywood on Monday. The building will provide a meeting place for Caribou Boy Scout Troop 184 and Cub Scout Pack 185, as well as serve as a stationary site for training junior and senior Scout leaders. Twelve community volunteers and Scouts provided the manpower that resulted in the four exterior walls being raised. The project has been made possible through the Caribou Friends of Scouting.

Area volunteers were hard at work on Saturday as the Caribou Boy Scout Lodge on Aldrich Drive, became one step closer to becoming a reality. During the day some volunteers, with no ties to Scouting, showed up to lend their carpentry expertise and community support to the Caribou Friends of Scouting project.
