PRESQUE ISLE – James E. Kressbach, 79, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at a Presque Isle health care facility. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on October 9, 1930, the son of John C. and Adelaide (Januchowski) Kressbach.
James graduated from Marquette University, WI, with a Bachelor of Science in Inorganic Chemistry in 1953. He was named in Who’s Who American Men and Women of Science in 1972. He worked as a Research Chemist until 1974. He also worked as quality control for the aerospace electronics industry. He then went on to teach at Southern Maine Technical College. He was also co-owner of an antique business, Old Trunks Restored, in Yarmouth and Presque Isle with his wife Jean, and he was also a real estate investor. James also held U.S. Government and Foreign Patents for the steel, paper, and chemical industries.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Jean (Luettgen) Kressbach, in May 2010.
He is survived by three sons and their wives, Jeffrey and Jennifer Kressbach of Snohomish, WA, Andrew and Jane Kressbach of Brunswick, and Lee and Joi Kressbach of Yarmouth; a daughter, Peggy Kressbach Ross of Presque Isle; six grandchildren, Wendy Bell and her husband Allan (Bill) Jr. of Presque Isle, Aaron, Nicholas, Hannah Kressbach of Brunswick, Laura, and Anna Kressbach of Yarmouth; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and James Bell of Presque Isle.
A memorial service was held 3 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Larry Palmer officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at duncan-graves.com.
