SGT. BRIAN GRAY is retiring from the Maine Warden Service this month, after 26 years of dedicated service to the department. A dinner in his honor is planned for Sept. 25 in Ashland.

ASHLAND — The Maine Warden Service office in Ashland will be bidding farewell to one of its own this month — Sgt. Brian Gray — during a special retirement dinner.
Sgt. Gray is retiring after 26 years with the department. His career began in early 1985.
Lieutenant Tom Ward, MWS said Gray got his start with MWS, serving in the Topsfield area.
“He’s been a sergeant for 16 years — got promoted after 10 years with the department. After Topsfield, he moved to Ashland where he served as a district warden,” said Ward.
A dinner is planned later this month to honor Gray.
“All are welcome to join us in celebrating Brian’s retirement. The event will take place Sept. 25 at the Ashland Fish & Game Club, Route 11,” said Ward.
A social hour is planned from 2-4 p.m., with the meal and roasting of Sgt. Brian Gray to follow.
“The meal will include steak or chicken breast, mashed potatoes with gravy, salad and dessert,” said Ward.
Cost to attend the dinner is $15 per person.
Checks can be sent to: Traci Bushey, PO Box 447, Ashland, ME 04732. For more information, contact 435-3231.
“Individuals are welcome to share stories about Brian during the roast,” noted Ward.
