Protecting what is yours
Has your home or business ever been broken into? Have you ever had anything of yours stolen? The most important thing to know when reporting a theft is the description of the item that was taken.
The police receive hundreds of complaints from people who have lost items, such as: televisions, bicycles, cell phones, jewelry and the list goes on. The police have a hard time locating the missing property without proper identification, such as: serial number, names of the product, what color it is and identifying marks. Please help us to help you.
Mark your property, record the serial numbers, and keep the paperwork that comes with your purchased items. The more information you have to identify your stolen item, the better chance the police will have to recover it. To contact the police, please call: Houlton Police Dept. at 532-2287; Maine State Police at 532-5400; or the Aroostook Sheriff Office at 532-7317. For all emergencies, call 911.
