Kenney family gathers for annual reunion
The 2010 Bernard and Iva (Bean) Kenney family reunion was recently held in Castle Hill at the Aroostook Snowmobile Club with 117 family members and guests in attendance.
The day was filled with fun and games for the youngsters and lots of reminiscing amongst the families and guests.
Dawn Kenney provided the dinner blessing prior to the potluck buffet enjoyed by all.
Following the meal, and prior to calling a short meeting to order, President Janice (Chaisson) Seabury had a moment of silent prayer for family members who have passed.
Secretary Janet (Kenney) Hopkins presented the new marriages, births, scholarship nominees and notable news of milestones reached by family members since the last gathering in 2009. The treasurer’s report given by Heather (Kenney) Winslow was read and accepted.
A memorial donation is being made to the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor in memory of Brian Kenney’s son, Brad, who was so suddenly and tragically taken from the family in 2009.
New officers were nominated and elected for 2011. Next year’s reunion will be held on the last Saturday of July at a location to be determined.
The meeting was adjourned and the family craft auction was entertainingly conducted by our seasoned auctioneer, Preston Kenney.
