BOYINGTON, Wilma D., 68, MARS HILL, August 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held 12:30 p.m. Wed., at the United Baptist Church of Mars Hill. A reception will be held following the service. Interment will be in Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill.
MARS HILL – Wilma D. Boyington, 68, died Sunday, August 29, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Caribou on September 1, 1941, a daughter of Oran and Mary (Paquin) Holmes Sr. She owned and operated a daycare in Mars Hill for many years. She was a member of the United Baptist Church of Mars Hill.
Wilma is survived by a son, Jeffrey of Mars Hill; two daughters and their husbands, Lori and Peter Scovil of Presque Isle, and Brenda and Wilfred Forbes of Biddeford; five grandchildren; Brian Forbes, Kyrra Mahaney, Nekko Boyington, Noah Boyington, and Elizabeth Winslow-Scovil; seven great-grandchildren; five brothers, Oran Jr. of Easton, Dwight of Fryeburg, Doug of Easton, Larry of Westfield, and Jarvis of Easton; five sisters, Mona Cyr of Presque Isle, Evelyn Stickney of Easton, Delores Strout of Presque Isle, Carolyn Longley of Caribou, and Ann White of Bangor.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard "Dick" Boyington in 2009; a brother, Galen Holmes; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Boyington.
A memorial service will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the United Baptist Church of Mars Hill with Pastor Mitch Ross officiating. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until time of service. A reception will be held following the service. Interment will be in Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Baptist Church of Mars Hill, P.O.
