    ANSON – Janice M. Day, 75, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010, in Bangor, at Eastern Maine Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
    She was born October 28, 1934, in Caribou, the daughter of the late Kenneth R. Peary and Dorothy (Hobbs) Peary.
    Janice graduated from Washburn High School, the class of 1952. She spent many years as a bookkeeper for Community Feed Store in East Longmeadow, MA, and she was the secretary for the Baptist church in East Longmeadow, MA, for many years. Janice loved to read, loved her Red Sox, and she especially loved the time she spent with her family.
    She is survived by her husband, Ira, of 58 years of Anson; five children, Richard Day and his wife Cheryl of Ludlow, MA, Stephen Day and his wife Kathleen of Oakland, Loretta Bennett and her husband Stephen of Hampden, MA, Debra Grimes and her husband Timothy of Silver Springs, FL, and Candace Day and her companion David Cheney of New Port Richey, FL; two brothers, Douglas Peary and his wife Gabriella of North New Haven, CT, and Darryl Peary & his wife Melvina of Corinth; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Lief Bull of Solon; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Bull; and granddaughter, Karen Ruane.
    A graveside service was held Monday, August 30, at 2 p.m., at the Old Cemetery, Chapin Rd, Hampden, MA, with Pastor Curtiss Kanagy officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan.
