Approximately 120 area senior citizens enjoyed a free turkey dinner at the Stockholm American Legion Post 136 on Aug. 18. The event was sponsored by members of the American Legion Auxiliary assisted by Legionnaires who help serve the meals cooked by Auxiliary members.
Albertine Dufour provided flower arrangements that adorned the dining tables and musical entertainment for the affair was provided by Silas Gustafson. Two Junior Auxiliary members served desserts and handed out a gift to all who attended. A fruit basket was donated by Shop n Save in Caribou, as a doorprize.
The oldest, the couple who had been married the longest, the person who traveled the longest distance and the one who has the most grandchildren also won prizes.
The Stockholm American Legion Auxiliary hosts this annual event to show appreciation for the support they receive throughout the year.
