Service keeps doors moving

Whether your garage is built for a car or large enough to hold farm equipment, it’s not much use without a working garage door. To get your doors back in working order, contact the folks at Overhead Door Company of Aroostook, located at 1150 Central Drive, Presque Isle.

“We carry garage doors suitable for commercial and residential structures. We do a variety of work, from installation and weather stripping to seals and bumpers for commercial loading docks,” said Darrel Groh, sales manager.

With locations in Presque Isle and Bangor, Groh said the company has built a reputation throughout the state, providing quality service and products.

“We’ve been in Bangor 30 years and in Presque Isle for three years now,” he said.

The company carries doors measuring nine feet by seven feet for smaller projects, such as residential garages, to commercial-sized doors measuring 32 feet by 16 feet.

“We carry various carriage-style doors — recently took on the Amarr line with a focus on residential units. We offer quite a variety of doors that were not available to us before,” said Groh.

“We have reasonably priced residential doors, suitable to match any need,” said Groh.

At Overhead Door, business is based on providing the best possible customer service.

“Without it, you don’t have a business,” he said. “That’s what the business was based on in Bangor and we’ve brought that philosophy here to Presque Isle.”

The Presque Isle facility has four employees ready to serve customers’ needs.

“Stacy Potter is our operations manager – been with us 23 years. He’s worked various positions and knows his way around. He worked directly with me for 15 years. His wife, Darlene Potter, is office manager. Keith Giberson has been with us two and a half years and Clif Estabrook since March. Both are installers,” said Groh.

On the commercial side,  products provide protection from the elements, ensuring proper storage for farmers’ crops.

“On the commercial end, our Thermacore 592 series is a two-inch thick urethane door used with great success in potato houses. The foam in the door doesn’t absorb moisture. Two years after installation, the door’s weight was checked and it hadn’t increased. That’s a first for The County,” said Groh.
