Trudy, a young spayed female at Halfway Home Pet Rescue, was one of eight lucky adult cats and one young kitten who found permanent homes on Saturday at the HHPR Adult Cat Adoption Fair in Caribou. Trudy, although only 7 months old, has already weaned one litter of calico kittens. She is Leukemia tested with all of her shots, is spayed and cleared of any parasites. Although $150 was spent to prepare Trudy for her new life, Trudy was free to the right home. All of HHPR adult cats are free to the right home during the month of August. Trudy’s 4-month old feral kittens are being socialized for future adoption in September. HHPR currently has two clean and home-socialized formerly feral cats for free adoption. Tammy and Callie are about 10 months old and are leukemia tested with all their shots and are cleared of parasites. Both cats are friendly and home socialized, but will remain shy of being actually touched by humans. They are both terrific mousers and would do well in a home setting with inside/outside freedom for mousing. Both cats show a good tendency to gradually become more trusting of humans in time if placed in a stable, loving environment.
