PRESQUE ISLE — Thursday marks the return of ‘The King,’ as Winnie’s Restaurant, located on Parsons Street, hosts the legend for an evening of fun, food and friendship.

“Elvis returns to Winnie’s Aug. 19 at 5:30 p.m.,” said Wynne Freeman, assistant manager.
The event marks the end for one owner, as Stan Harris prepares to turn over the establishment to its new owner, Mark McKenna, in the near future. Known for its festive gatherings, Winnie’s will be the place to be Aug. 19, with special activities planned throughout the evening.
“There will be classic cars, poodle skirts, ‘pink ladies,’ dancing and singing to the oldies to be enjoyed by all ages, young and old alike,” said Freeman. “We invite everyone to come and participate in the fun by dressing up to help us celebrate ‘The King of Rock and Roll.’”
While there, participants can enjoy their favorite meal, be it seafood or burgers, a salad or a variety of ice cream flavors.
Freeman noted there will be prizes for those that look the most like Elvis, representing all different age groups.
“If you enjoy great food and lots of fun, then please come and join us on Aug. 19. We can’t wait to see you there,” said Freeman.
