Community Living Association’s Employee Recognition luncheon was held July 30 at the Career Enhancement Center to recognize CLA staff for their dedication and commitment to the people they serve.
“This special group of people makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the individuals with disabilities,” said Anita Hubert, Public Relations chairman.
Those being honored for their years of service were: Pat Lewis, 35 years; Charlene Chase, 33 years; Kathleen Parks, Susan Faulkner and Cindy Williams, 31 years; Freida Bither, 30 years; Laurie Saunders, 29 years; Wendy Scott, 28 years; Sandra Malone, 27 years; Teresa Goguen, Wendy Tapley and Judy Doody, 26 years; and Ron Langworthy and Joyce Tomah, 25 years.RECOGNIZED – Employees at Community Living Center gather in front of the Career Enhancement Center before the company’s Employee Recognition luncheon on July 30. Other staff honored for meeting a milestone year were: Darlene Botting, Bonnie Wotton, Bruce Scott and Tom Mailman, all 20 years; Lynn Skehan, Tonia Shaw, Gene Mooers, Vickie Dunham, Tony Quint, Judy Suitter, Jen Patoine and Rita Burpee, 15 years; Bea Bishop, Mary Peters, Deb Flewelling, Evelyn Britton, Cindy Tarr, Connie Manuel, Pat Sherman and Linda Hamel, 10 years; and Amanda Mosley, Sarah Lloyd, Heidi Nason, Marilyn Ide, Jenna Lynds, Nicole Richardson, Jody Barker, Jessica Logue, Sharon Ganglefinger, Kathy Tarr, Kathy Dorward and Lisa Rouse, five years.
In addition to the mile marker honorees, 25 employees were recognized for 16 to 20 years of dedication.
Lorrie Stevens was a special guest who retired after 33 years with CLA. Mary Harbison, CLA Board member, spoke of her experiences with Stevens and left a few tears in everyone’s’ eyes.
CLA proudly presented an award to a local business that has made a commitment to employing individuals with disabilities. In the past 25 years, local businesses have employed more than 100 people with developmental disabilities. This years’ recipient was Paradis Shop-n-Save. Their partnership with CLA began in April 2006. CLA thanks them and looks forward to continuing this relationship. Accepting the award on their behalf was Jody Moulton.
The lunch was catered by The Courtyard Café. “CLA thanks its entire staff for their caring, giving spirit and for improving the everyday lives of the people they serve,” said Peter Marcotte, human resource director.
