CARIBOU — Between 500-600 people filled the Caribou Performing Arts Center on August 1st to watch about 100 dance students show their skills on stage in an event where the only things small were the instructors; Abby and Paige Small of Small Steps Dance directed the youths, choreographed numbers, and put on a highly entertaining fifth annual Summer Show, which consisted of 24 dance numbers that were well-received by the audience.

From two years old and up, each student showed the audience what dance skills they’d learned during their summer dance lessons; while talent was abundant, some dancers were distracted by an opportunity to wave to Mom or the chance to steal the spotlight by striking a pose, and that’s alright with Paige and Abby.

“Our philosophy at Small Steps Dance is to have fun, learn something about dance, be affordable and enjoyable for all involved,” they wrote in a message to their audience members.
