“Just For Kids” summer playground, sponsored by the Houlton Parks and Recreation Department, will be holding its annual Peanut Parade and Carnival on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m.
The children dressed in costume will walk, bike or ride floats through Market Square.
The Peanut Carnival, a longtime tradition, will be Thursday, Aug. 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Street tennis courts. In case of rain, the activities will be moved inside at the rec center.
The highlight of the evening at 8 p.m. will be the crowning of the 2010 Peanut King and Queen at the Houlton Recreation Department’s gymnasium. King Mitchell Bragan and Queen Tessa McCormick will do the honors.
