Sports Tidbit

    In 1948, Jay Brewer of Monticello, who was playing for the Houlton Collegians, hit the first homer out of the new Bob Ruth Field in Community Park. Sixty-two years later, Brewer’s great grandson, Parker, son of Chris and Lynette Brewer hit the first home run out of the new Savings Bank of Maine field.
