Easton Theatre Company
puts on rousing performance
EASTON NEWS
The Easton Theatre Company put on another performance with nine new members. If you missed this production, you missed a great show. It was fantastic.
The “old cast” consisted of: Amy Barnes, Kelly O’Mara, Michelle Osgood, Bethany Pytlak, Krystyna Pytlak, Shelby Wilcox and Sean O’Mara. The “new members” were: Kelsey Frank, Meghan Frank, Abby Thompson, Madison Leach, Luke Budreau, Jessica Bennett, Lisa Dayringer, Kerrigan Arnett and Taylor Lawrence. They sang songs from the ‘50s like “Old Time Rock and Roll” and “Roll Over Beethoven.” Every song was fantastic and when it was over you wanted more.
We sure do have great singers and performers here in Easton and we are so proud of all of you. Thanks to all the helpers who didn’t perform. Thanks to Bernard and Gwen O’Mara who conducted the performance. Great job. Hope this will continue. We all love it.
Marjorie Grant was sent to the hospital in Van Buren and was then transported to Bangor. She had water on the brain and had another stroke. There was no more they could do for her and they sent her back to Van Buren. She has improved a little, but not much. Her Aunt Rachael and Uncle Dale are headed home after 10 days visiting Gaylen and Marjorie.
The Easton All-School Reunion took place again this year. They have it every five years. It was a huge success with almost 500 alumni present. The master of ceremonies was Mike Corey. The honored family was the Ken and Bea Hayden family. Lewis Hayden Jr. was the guest speaker for the night.
We were all fed a wonderful turkey dinner with many desserts. Many out-of-towners were present and it was great to see all of the old familiar faces and visit with everyone to catch up on old times.
Gifts and baskets were presented to different people. Iola Page and Jeanne Pelfrey received a basket for their help over the many years they were secretaries at the Easton School Department. They are both retired now. The oldest alumni present were Rena Richardson and Bob Dinsmore. The one traveling the farthest was Dale Cullins.
The alumni new officers are co-chairmen Jeremy Corey and Jessica Blackstone. The new secretary is Lisa Haney and the new treasurer is Elaine White.
Many, many, many thanks to all who worked so hard to put this on; and I know many hours of work went into it. We appreciate all your hard work.
In last week’s paper the Easton food pantry was captioned wrong. It should have read the Easton Branch of the Friends Helping Friends food pantry. Also the food pantry is located in the basement of the Odd Fellows Hall and is a cooperative effort of all the churches in town.
There will be no birthdays and anniversaries in the paper this week due to complaints of people’s birthdays and anniversaries not being in the paper. If you would like to have your birthday or anniversary in the newspaper under the Easton news, please let me know through e-mail at debbiesmith04_69@hotmail.com. Otherwise I have no way of knowing everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I apologize for leaving out some birthdays and anniversaries.
A big thank-you goes out to all the volunteers and sponsors who made this year’s Field Days’ event such a big success. The festivities would not have been possible without their commitment and support.
