Houlton High School alum return for soccer showdown

HOULTON, Maine — Former soccer players from Houlton High School returned to their alma mater July 6 to participate in the annual Alumni Soccer game. Attendance at this year’s event was down considerably, with only 10 members participating. As such, a shorter soccer field was created, and an informal game of five-on-five was played. No score was tallied.
Participating in the game were: Liz Sewell (Class of 2007), Fran Sewell (2006), Todd Willard (1986), Alex Mooers (2007), Elliot Mooers (2009), Sharif Abouleish (2007), David Rowe (2003), Musa Bilal (2008), Jason Carmichael (1992) and Lowell Matthews (2009). Current Houlton High School coach Tim Tweedie also participated in the game.
